Chemical Etching
Mould etching
Texturing Process Types
- 1. Sandblasting
- 2. Film Exposure
- 3. Coated Texturing
- 4. Film Transfer
- 5. Laser Engraving

Considerations
Sandblasting
- Suitable for fine EDM-like textures.
- Produces an even surface with consistent tactile quality.
- Scratch resistance and expected production life should be reviewed for the application.
- Parting lines require careful protection during processing.
- The process is comparatively straightforward and efficient.

Considerations
Film Exposure
- Suitable for regular patterns that include protected mirror-finish areas.
- Photoresist thickness, washing and repeat exposure control require careful process management.
- Offers comparatively good scratch resistance.

Considerations
Coated Texturing
- Suitable for EDM-like and larger dot textures.
- Provides longer service life and better scratch resistance than basic sandblasted textures.
- Localized texture damage can be repaired comparatively efficiently.

Considerations
Film Transfer
- Suitable for leather-like, multilayer automotive textures on instrument panels, door panels and similar components.
- Multiple layers create stronger depth and more continuous visual flow.
- Repeated etching can affect parting lines, so an appropriate processing margin is recommended.
